Peer-to-peer learning for aspiring, beginning, and experienced farmers

Farming requires deep, multidisciplinary knowledge spanning a wide and ever-evolving range of subjects.Along with growing dozens of crops with their own unique needs or grazing livestock on healthy pastures, farmers must operate a financially viable business while navigating a changing climate.

Our community-based education and training programs for aspiring, beginning, or experienced farmers offer structured guidance from peer farmers and other food system professionals committed to regenerative land stewardship, protecting natural resources, and building healthy, vibrant local communities.

We asked some recent graduates of our farmer training programs to share a bit about their experiences.

They told us what they love about farming (as well as what they could do without) and reflected on how they’ve grown, and what memories, stories, and lessons they’ll carry with them as they keep growing.
