Packhouse Design & Post-Harvest Handling [Twilight Meeting]

How you handle your produce after harvest can make the difference between a long-lasting, attractive, and delicious crop that keeps your customers coming back for more—and a crop that lands in the compost heap.

During this twilight meeting, you’ll tour wash and pack areas at two different farms while examining their advantages and disadvantages. At be.wild.er farm, you’ll learn how farming on rented land can impact post-harvest activities. Next, at Blackberry Meadows Farm, you’ll learn how relocating and redesigning their wash and pack area has improved efficiency at the farm.

We’ll also review important considerations for installing or improving a packhouse on your own farm.
