During this tour of Carversville Farm Foundation, you’ll see how the farm is expanding its organic pastured poultry operation to raise 400 turkeys, 3,000 broilers, and 1,300 laying hens this year.
The tour will focus on examining the farm’s systems to husband and harvest certified organic poultry. In addition to reviewing the nuts and bolts of seasonal setup and daily care, we’ll explore utilizing appropriate technologies, increasing production efficiency, determining performance objectives, and maintaining records.
We’ll also discuss how raising poultry fits into the farm’s overarching land stewardship goals.
