Yet, little information is available to guide vegetable farmers in making financial decisions.
Through our Diversified Vegetable Financial Benchmark Study, we’re helping vegetable farmers improve their bottom line. Financial benchmarks can give you a more accurate idea of the typical returns you can expect from entering into new sales outlets. They also help put your farm’s finances into context so you can better evaluate your long-term business plan.
During this workshop, you’ll complete a detailed financial survey about your vegetable farm that will take approximately 90–120 minutes. We’ll also share highlights and lessons learned from this multi-year study. We will later provide you with personalized information about how your business finances compare to farms across Pennsylvania and the U.S.
All participants are eligible for a $100 stipend for completing the study, but must prepare some basic 2018 financial records before the workshop. General results from this study will be shared publicly, but your farm’s specific data will be kept confidential.
At this time, participation in this study is limited to for-profit diversified vegetable operations.
