Empowering farmers with data and community

Our research projects are designed to provide farmers with the information they need to improve ecological sustainability on their farms and to strengthen their business models to improve long-term financial viability in a challenging marketplace.

Our studies are conducted on working farms, instead of research plots, which lets us compare a wide range of farming models in real-world settings. We also rely on participatory research methods by training farmers to be community scientists so they can more effectively assess their farming methods and business models for years to come. Research study participants gain access to a learning community of farmers in their region and can attend a variety of farmer-to-farmer educational and networking events each year.
