Proper irrigation is the number one way you can improve crop yields and grow better tasting fruit and vegetables.
Join Grow Pittsburgh’s Garden Resource Center to learn the basics of designing and building an irrigation system for your farm or garden.
Nick Lubecki, Grow Pittsburgh’s Director of Urban Agriculture, will discuss the benefits and trade-offs of overhead sprinklers vs. drip tape and review options for automating with timers. You’ll get a chance to try out assembling various irrigation parts, and we’ll talk through your irrigation system needs.
Want to workshop your irrigation set up? Bring along a detailed drawing! Be sure to include specific measurements of your growing space, including dimensions of the space overall, length and width of all your beds, the placement of any water sources, and their distance from each bed.
This event is part of our “Growing to the Next Level” series held in partnership with Grow Pittsburgh.
