About Rosie

Rosie supports farmers as they implement climate-smart farming practices to increase climate resilience and food sovereignty from Maine to South Carolina.

Rosie has worked in various capacities related to agriculture and conservation. Previously, she assisted in preserving several farms through the Pennsylvania Agriculture Land Preservation program. Near Pittsburgh, she successfully transformed a vacant lot into an urban farm, which includes an apiary, a high tunnel, a bioswale, and an orchard that provides fresh vegetables to three local food pantries. With the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Rosie participated in planting and maintaining the Slavery to Freedom Garden, which showcases plants used by freedom seekers for food and medicine. Most recently, she managed habitat restoration and riparian buffer plantings along the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers. Rosie was also a Soil Health Intern at Pasa before becoming a full-time technical assistance provider. She is delighted to continue to support and work with local farmers.

She enjoys traveling and sharing outdoor adventures with her furry family member, Lucy. She can often be found exploring the family homestead and photographing her discoveries, such as the two-legged wood turtle.
