About Maricruz

Maricruz is part of our customer support team working to maintain a welcoming and inclusive process for frontline workers applying to the Farm and Food Workers Relief program in 14 states throughout the Northeast.

Maricruz spent the last 10 years deepening her connection to land and community through work in food systems. Her volunteer work with the Gleaning Project of South Central Pennsylvania brought her attention to the need for more sustainable agricultural practices in Pennsylvania. She became further connected through working at small restaurants that intentionally sourced from local farmers. Most recently she made the switch from service work to farming and has worked at two diversified organic and naturally-grown vegetable farms. Maricruz was drawn to Pasa’s commitment to community and equity. Due to her upbringing, she has a deep connection with farmworkers and feels honored to be able to join Pasa in providing support to these communities.

Born and raised in a migrant farmworker family in California, Maricruz now lives in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with her cat, Shishito. She finds joy in spending time in the woods foraging for mushrooms and learning about the many uses of local plants. When not in the woods, you may find her thrifting, sewing, tending her indoor home jungle, or crafting her next adventure.
