About Jake

Jake works to analyze and understand data from our farm-based research studies, particularly on soil health indicators and management information from the Soil Health Benchmark Study.

Previously, Jake worked in data analysis and management on public health and cancer research trials, but two seasons of farming in New England fostered his fascination with agroecology. He now comes to Pasa from Cornell University, where he received a master’s degree in soil and crop science studying the long-term effects of organic cropping systems on weed communities. He believes that research, extension, organizing, and policy change working in concert are necessary for transformational change in agriculture and is happy to work with an organization active on all these fronts.

He currently lives in San Francisco, California and enjoys running in Golden Gate Park, backpacking in Point Reyes National Seashore, and planning an aspirational fog-tolerant garden among the weeds of his backyard.
