Threshing Wheat on Today’s Small Farm

All aspects of growing heirloom (Red Fife) wheat on a small farm, including soil preparation, harvesting, threshing with hand-made threshers and incorporating whole grain wheat into your baking and breads. Workshop includes basics of farming with a single draft horse and discussion about how animals and poultry add to fertility, thresher designs, sowing and saving seed, equipment for harvesting and grinding and how to market seed left over after your own family use.
