About Sriram

Sriram supports farmers in Central New York and northern Pennsylvania to facilitate access to comprehensive conservation planning and project implementation funding.

Sriram comes from a research career in tree ecophysiology and forest ecology in Seattle, Washington, and then at Cornell University. He studied tree root-fungus interactions, soil ecology, plant phenology, carbon cycles, crop modeling, and insect neurobehavior, and has published a handful of research papers. Seeking engagement with the needs of both land and people, he decided to pursue work in forest management and training in agroforestry. He is currently transitioning to working in agriculture and organic farming. Sriram is excited to be part of Pasa’s mission to support conservation practices as well as advocate for social justice—a perfect marriage of what he hopes to dedicate his life to.

Outside of work, Sriram loves cooking, going to the gym, jamming with his band, whittling, and hiking. Mutual aid and political activism are also huge parts of his life, and he is incredibly grateful to be a part of a beautiful ecosystem of people.
