Porchea supports farmers as they access grants, services, and technical assistance provided by Pasa. This work helps farmers build productive, mutually beneficial relationships with our organization and other like-minded farmers.
Before joining Pasa, Porchea spent more than nine years working alongside communities at the intersection of food, farming, equity, and nonprofit leadership. Her experience as a farmer, food systems strategist, and community leader has allowed her to support farmers, producers, and food entrepreneurs as they work toward their goals. She is an alumna of Indiana University Bloomington and Bidwell Training Center in Pittsburgh and a former mentee with the Wallace Center’s Food Systems Leadership Network. Porchea has a genuine love for building relationships, connecting people, and supporting communities as they grow. She began her journey with Pasa as a pre-apprentice in its Diversified Vegetable Pre-Apprenticeship. Since then, she has had opportunities to deepen her experience in sustainable and regenerative agriculture and connect with a broader community of farmers. Joining the Pasa team as a staff member feels like a full-circle opportunity to help others access the same kind of connection, learning, and support that has shaped her own journey.
Porchea is a proud mama of two, a plant and tree lover, and a big foodie. She is happiest when she is crafting with food, cooking, writing, and spending time with her loved ones and community.
