About Pete

Pete supports farmers in Central and Northern Virginia to facilitate access to comprehensive conservation planning and project implementation funding.

Born and raised in rural Loudoun County, Virginia, he discovered his passion for regenerative agriculture while volunteering for a grassroots urban farming community and attending James Madison University. After a semester wilderness expedition in Patagonia with the National Outdoor Leadership School, he decided to devote his career to reconnecting people to nature through farming and food. He went on to work on several diverse vegetable and livestock farms, including Willowsford Farm and George’s Mill Farm, and managed a small tree nursery. He also worked with educational farms like Fox Haven Farm and helped launch the Piedmont Environmental Council’s Community Farm at Roundabout Meadows, leading volunteer days and educational events while producing thousands of pounds of vegetables for food banks. Pete has also gained valuable experience managing gardens on a historic farm property and leading land stewardship efforts on ecological restoration projects. Most recently, Pete served as a Technical Assistance Provider with Future Harvest, where he deepened his commitment to supporting farmers across the region.

Pete has a deep passion for agroforestry and soil health!
