About Mercelyne

Mercelyne works closely with underserved farmers and growers in Philadelphia to understand their needs and connect them with resources.

Mercelyne spent her childhood in Haiti, where she developed a passion for food, plants, culture, and a revolutionary spirit. Building on these foundational values, she majored in public health at Temple University and has dedicated her career to connecting people with food, herbs, and the movement for a more just world. Some of the biggest lessons Mercelyne has learned in her career are the value of authentically listening to your community, building lasting relationships, and creating space for passion.

In her free time, you can find her out in her garden, reading a good book, or working on her small business, Bwà Botanica, and épis, a Haitian marinade. Mercelyne also co-leads an apothecary garden course in Philadelphia.
