About Laura

Laura works on analyzing data from our farm-based research and sharing findings with our farmer research collaborators.

During undergraduate studies at Cornell University, Laura focused on soil science and sustainable agriculture, spending her summers working on small-scale diversified farms in Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. She went on to earn a PhD from Penn State University and later pursued a postdoc back at Cornell, where she examined microbes in farm soils that support crop plants. Laura is excited to center farmer-driven research and community in her work.

Laura lives in Ithaca, New York. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking around the Finger Lakes with her greyhound, Winnie, tending to her community garden plot, exploring new backpacking trails with her partner, and cooking and baking with friends.
