About this webinar:

Discover how sharing your farming experiences can help build a better food system, and spend time creating your own advocacy plan!

Agricultural advocacy can take many forms, from writing blog posts to hosting policymakers on farm tours. Farmer stories, in particular, are essential to advocating for local, state, and federal policies that invest in environmental conservation, advance food justice, and confront climate change.

Join us for this virtual training to learn how you can add your voice to critical policy conversations. You’ll hear about the policymaking process, as well as personal accounts of what agricultural advocacy can look like. During this session, we spent the majority of the time in interactive breakout rooms, offering attendees the chance to create an advocacy plan with the help of facilitators and a planning worksheet.

We’ll hear from Lindsey Shapiro, a farmer and Pasa staff member, who took action by sharing her story with legislators. Priscilla Ruilova and Noah Erwin from Pasa’s Policy team will also join us to share their experiences in direct advocacy and discuss the importance of storytelling in building a successful campaign for policy change.

Recorded on December 11, 2024
