About the webinar:

Tune in to learn and share feedback about House Bill 920, a current proposal in the Pennsylvania General Assembly aimed at strengthening support networks for urban producers.

Access to fresh, local, and culturally relevant food is a human right, which includes the right to grow food. But growing food is not easy, and unfortunately, city policies often make it harder. Urban growers fight many uphill battles to obtain access to land, water, and infrastructure. Even when they are able to obtain these rights, they often shoulder unfair fees and restrictions that fail to reflect their land use and ignore the additional service they provide to the city.

Urban Ag Incentive Zones could help open up a world where zoning codes correctly recognize the benefit that farms and gardens bring to the city, support them in overcoming their challenges, and make it easier for growers to save money, receive payment, and feed their communities.

In this webinar, you will hear from HB 920’s prime sponsor, Representative Chris Rabb, about why he introduced the Urban Ag Incentive Zone bill and what he hopes the legislation will achieve. Following Rep. Rabb’s overview is a discussion to gather producer feedback.
