PT Summer Farm and Apothecary Crew Member

About the farm: Katydid Hill is a farmer owned herbal tea farm and apothecary where we are committed to growing 100% of the herbs in our teas and elixirs. Chamomile is our favorite crop to grow around here, and we specialize in crafting the most aromatic and flavorful cup of chamomile tea you’ve ever had. We believe that the flavor is the medicine and craft each blend to delight, uplift, or simply meet you where you are at. Katydid Hill is co-owned by Katelyn and Ben, partners in love and farming, and grew out of our love of the land and creating space where tea is shared.
As a team, we grow herbs on about 6 acres with a combination of handwork and small equipment. We process everything by hand in our certified kitchen and sell primarily at farmers markets, on our webstore, and to small shops and grocers nationally. We are excited to be in our 8th farm season, and looking forward to moving and growing our farm!
Farm and Apothecary Location: This year we are in the process of moving the farm from our original location in Orwigsburg to our new fields at Ben’s family farm in Sinking Spring, Pa. This gives us the opportunity to grow on more acres, better integrate livestock into the fields (our sweet cows and wool sheep!), and build a new facility for our kitchen space, herb storage, staff room and even a little farm store. While this winter is a bit back-and-forth in both locations, we expect to be fully moved to Sinking Spring by March/April 2025.

Position: PT Apothecary and Market Crew Member

Start immediately; 2-3 days/week.
Winter schedule: Tuesday/Thursday, 9-4:30pm at Orwigsburg kitchen location. Sunday farmer’s market 2/month, 8am-2:30pm, meeting in Sinking Spring location.

Location: We are in the process of moving from Orwigsburg to Sinking Spring – we expect to be fully moved by March/April 2025 and will prioritize hiring someone who is within commuting distance of our new location.
