About Sarah

Sarah supports farmers in the western third of North Carolina to facilitate access to comprehensive conservation planning and project implementation funding.

Sarah has worked in agriculture and food systems for more than two decades. Her journey has included being a certified organic vegetable and cut flower farmer, managing the education and marketing for a refugee farmer training program, providing technical assistance to food hubs across the southeast, creating innovative programming within the food-as-medicine realm, and working as an Agriculture Extension Agent. Sarah has a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and Environmental Policy and a Masters of Science in Global Food Security and Nutrition. She has a deep love of working within agriculture and believes that by working together, we can lessen agriculture’s detrimental impacts on planetary health while simultaneously improving its viability.

Sarah lives in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina where she delights in hiking, growing an abundance of food, watching the incredible diversity of wildlife feast and flourish in her wild yard, and yanking invasive plants while listening to podcasts.
