Women for the Land – Conservation Learning Circle


American Farmland Trust and the Perry County Conservation District invite women who own
or operate farms, or seek farmland in Perry County PA to participate in a two-day engaging
discussion on the resources and support for farmland management, conservation and/or
preservation.
Day 1
When: Tuesday 9/29/20, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Where: Witmer Farm, 261 State Route 235, Liverpool PA 17045
What: Introduction to conservation planning, farm tour to see and discuss conservation practices

Day 2
When: Tuesday 10/27/20, (11:30 am – 12:30 pm optional lunch) Meeting 12:30 – 6:00 pm
Where: Penn State Extension Office, 8 S. Carlisle St., New Bloomfield PA
What: Meet conservation agencies that can help women farmers/farmland owners, discuss
leasing land, seeking land, funding sources, land preservation and agricultural easements,
succession and estate planning.

There is no fee for the Learning Circle. Lunch will be served on Day 1 and Day 2 (both are free to
participants through a grant from NRCS).
