Preparing for Winter CSA

Join the farmers at Pennypack Farm & Education Center as they glean the last of their summer harvest and prepare for their 180-member winter CSA—which complements their 400-member summer CSA.

We’ll discuss how to plan for and grow a steady supply of greens throughout the winter, as well as strategies for long-term root crop storage. We’ll tour Pennypack’s hoop house and low tunnels, as well as their crop storage facilities.

Pennypack Farm and Education Center works with children, families, community groups, and environmental and educational institutions to encourage the creation of sustainable local food systems. The Center offers educational programs and a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) demonstration project, which serves hundreds of families year round.
