Note: Originally scheduled as an in-person event, we’ve transitioned this workshop to a webinar format due to social distancing measures.
Pasture Song Farm is located on 90 acres of the Lundale Farm Preserve in Chester County. Farmers Jeremy Dunphy and Clara Osborne manage the operation, including the breeding, raising, and marketing of over 150 pigs each year.
Pasture Song moves their pigs regularly through annual and perennial pastures in rotation with field crops, including corn and small grains, which are harvested and ground on their farm for feed. The finished pork products are sold through farmers markets, CSA meat shares, and various wholesale accounts. During this webinar, you’ll learn about the pitfalls and rewards of raising pigs on pasture in rotation with other crops, including strategies for fencing, shelter, pasture management, making feed and bedding, and crop rotation.
This webinar is being offered free of charge through support from a USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Grant.
Pasture Song Farm is owned and operated by Jeremy Dunphy and Clara Osborne. Jeremy is the project leader and coordinator, as well as the resident mechanic and fixer-of-things. He leads the crop planning and executing, as well as composting and field fertility. Clara orchestrates the livestock raising and pasture management, and cut flower production. She also handles most of the marketing, sales, inventory, and customer relations.
