Weed pressure is a challenge on any vegetable farm, and it can be especially difficult for organic operations. Join us for a virtual presentation from two vegetable farm managers.
They discuss both preventative approaches and intervention strategies for controlling weeds in vegetable production, including:
Dan Kemper manages all vegetable production fields at Rodale Institute Headquarters. After numerous plant science classes and an internship at Quiet Creek Farm, Dan received a B.S. in Biology at Kutztown University. He then worked for Quiet Creek for two years before coming to the Institute.
Nick Lubecki started his first vegetable farm in 2012 in the Stanton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh. In 2018 he began managing Grow Pittsburgh‘s Braddock Farms, one acre of urban vegetable farm plots, which serves as an educational site and sells affordable food to the community.
