Webinar Listening Session: Farm Worker Needs

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, farm workers face a growing list of persistent challenges on Pennsylvania farms.

This includes finding housing, accessing healthcare, staying safe on and off the job, and navigating visa and immigration regulations.

We invite farm employees and employers, as well as farm worker advocates, to join this listening session on farm worker needs. The conversation will be facilitated by Desi Burnette (Movement of Immigrant Leaders in Pennsylvania); Sara Gilgora (Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture); Dawn Plummer (Pittsburgh Food Policy Council); and Sara Nicholas (Pasa Sustainable Agriculture).

In addition to sharing their perspectives on this topic, attendees will learn about recent policy ideas and initiatives for farm workers in Pennsylvania, including the Movement of Immigrant Leaders’ “Driving Forward” driver’s license campaign.
