On-Farm Workshop Increase Your Pasture’s Biodiversity with Multispecies Grazing

Diversify your pastures.

Join us at Blue Dog Farms, where the Van Nice family manages multiple species — including beef cattle, goats, and laying hens — in an integrated, rotational grazing system. They’ve also recently begun raising pastured pork, serving a direct-to-consumer market in South Central Pennsylvania.

During this field day, you’ll walk some of the pastures with Farm Manager Dan Van Nice, and learn about successes and challenges the family has encountered along their farming journey.

Following the pasture walk, we’ll share a lunch including some Blue Dog products!

Speaker

Dan Van Nice grew up farming, but was working off-farm when he decided to raise a small herd of beef cattle for his growing family in Southern York County. Word quickly spread about the Van Nice family’s sustainable and responsibly grown beef. Blue Dog Farms gradually expanded to include other animals, and now Dan farms full-time with help from his wife Giana and their children.
