On-Farm Workshop Finding an Irrigation System that Works for You

Irrigation systems are not one size fits all. Tour a newly installed irrigation system at an urban farm in Pittsburgh and learn how to assess your unique water needs.

Join us at Freeman Family Farm, an educational urban farm that grows food for the community in the historic Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Farmer Lisa Freeman will discuss how a combination of sprinkler and drip irrigation is helping them to enhance efficiency and production capacity. We’ll also discuss mister systems and then dig into how to assess your water needs and build a system appropriate to your scale and crops.

This session is part of our ongoing “Growing to the Next Level” series, in partnership with Grow Pittsburgh.
