Workshop Farm Incubator Programs: Three Approaches

Farm incubator programs can help beginning farmers cross the professional bridge from farmhand to farm operator.

Farm incubator programs offer a lower-risk, more financially accessible path toward starting a farm. Incubator program participants have the opportunity to develop their skills and business model while experimenting with scale, marketing, and production techniques. They also often have access to shared tools, equipment, and infrastructure.

During this webinar, representatives from three incubator programs operating in Pennsylvania—The Seed Farm in Lehigh County; Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education in York County; and Hilltop Urban Farm in Pittsburgh—will share the different formats of their respective programs and answer your questions.

This webinar is suitable for both beginning or aspiring farmers interested in taking the leap toward managing and owning a farm business, and service providers working to develop or manage farmer-training and incubator programs.
