Advanced Grower Meeting: Where Do We Go From Here?

This was a challenging year for vegetable farmers in Pennsylvania. What worked or didn’t work for you this season? And how are you planning for the season—and years—ahead?

We invite you to share your experiences, ideas, and questions with your peers at this full-day advanced grower meeting, which will feature presentations from Pennsylvania vegetable growers, complemented by facilitated group discussions.

• Our morning session will include a 2018 season-in-review discussion and a presentation on realizing profitability and efficiency in the farm operation.
• In the afternoon, we’ll discuss emerging trends in farm aggregation networks, including a discussion of the pros and cons of growing single crops for a wholesale market, and coordinating grower networks to access new market channels.
• Finally, the day will conclude with a panel discussion addressing the question: “In a changing environmental and economic climate, where do we go next?”
