As we enter our 18th season of production, Two Gander Farm will maintain and improve our sustainable farming practices with a focus on strengthening our community ties, creating new partnerships, and continuing to turn out gorgeous produce with respect for our local environment. We need passionate people to help us grow.
About the Role:
Two Gander Farm is seeking an organized, self-motivated problem solver to join the leadership team as its Field Production Manager. As the linchpin for farm production, you will track and manage the production schedule, lead harvest planning, and maintain the harvest availability list, working closely with harvest and distribution leads to maintain efficient operational flow throughout the growing season. This is a lead role with expectation of year-round (non-seasonal) employment.

- Production recordkeeping: track seeding, transplanting, and maturity data to chart progress of specific crops and successions throughout their production cycle to accurately manage availability; provide continuous auditing of what is in the field, where it is, and when it’s ready to harvest
- Production management: Communicate regularly with key team members across the farm to facilitate the execution of the production schedule. Ensure harvest constraints and demands are clear, issues are promptly addressed, and yields are maximized
- Procedure development: As the season progresses, you may develop and refine harvest procedures in partnership with the farm owner in the interest of continuous improvement
- Inventory and communicate tool and supply needs, vehicle management needs, etc. related to production and harvesting
- There is always plenty of field/tractor work to do on the farm. It will be necessary for you to do some of this field tractor work throughout the season. This is mostly transplanting preparation, direct seeding, and turning over fields. In the off-season, when our field crew is not here, you will be the main person doing this tractor work
- Irrigation: Coordinate with the harvest crew on when fields need to be irrigated. You will also be required to be laying and managing irrigation systems throughout the season
