About the farm

Threefold Farm is a highly diversified unusual fruit orchard operating since 2016. We grow pawpaws, kiwi berries, persimmons, and jujubes in the field as well as in two geothermal greenhouses that produce figs and citrus. Our produce is sold through wholesale accounts ranging from high end distributors to local farm stores to festivals like the York Pawpaw Festival.

Our unique blend of fruits and focus on sustainable growing practices means that we have a significant marketing advantage and a solid customer base that loves our products and wants more than we currently have to offer. Our growing scionwood and cuttings sales provides a source of revenue through the winter season. Our still-maturing orchard means increased opportunity for growth and advancement alongside the orchard. We aim to run a lean operation with low overhead thanks to design and a focus on building out infrastructure during our first years of operation.

Our fruit’s seasonality means that our heavy production time runs from late August through mid-November with opportunities for flexibility in schedule during the winter season.

About the role

The farm manager at our small farm wears a lot of hats: from field work, customer interaction, and harvest to off-season planning, bookkeeping, and maintenance.

More than just a manager, at 10 years in we’re hoping to find a partner who will not only keep the orchard running, but help us to dream about and execute the next 10 years of the growth of the farm and to grow alongside it. Therefore the farm manager must be creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial, love outdoor work, be self motivated, curious, and always excited and willing to learn new things and challenge themselves.
