Honesdale, PA job

We have an amazing opportunity for an enterprising person to farm and homestead. Old School Farm in the Dyberry Wilds is seeking help in their organic, no till farm enterprise. Preferably full time at 35-50 hours/week, and one can live on the farm or commute in. Compensation is opportunity and experience, a small cabin, some food and important incidentals, and a degree of community and camaraderie.

Old School Farm ( is located 10 minutes north of Honesdale, PA in the Upper Poconos of Pennsylvania (close to the Catskills of New York). We have a small flock of sheep, 30-40 chickens, and a market/CSA garden currently cared for by a highly skilled farmer who is moving on to new adventures in the fall of 2022. Our farm has 1-2 acres of amazing no till vegetable gardens, about 12 acres of pasture, and 40 acres in forest and orchards.

The farmer’s work includes planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, mulching, making hay, making compost, hauling manure and cutting and splitting fire wood, and other tasks of a small farm and homestead. Maybe even some building and tractor maintenance. One must be capable of doing physically demanding work. The level of responsibility, autonomy, and ability to generate personal income from farm sales is dependent on one’s skills and personal and business management acumen. Experience is not necessarily required, but you do need to be hungry, humble, and smart.
