Beginning Biodynamics: Earth, Water & the Living Farm

Join us at the Horn Farm Center for a two-day, hands-on introduction to biodynamics on November 14–15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Designed for farmers, gardeners, educators, land stewards, and others interested in regenerative agriculture, the weekend will explore the farm as a living system through qualitative observation and practical fieldwork. Participants will work with circular soil chromatography, compost preparations, BD500 horn manure, the biodynamic planting calendar, and approaches to understanding soil fertility beyond conventional nutrient analysis.

Allen Clements of Dark Hollow Biodynamic will teach alongside special guest Jennifer Greene, founder of the Water Research Institute in Maine. Jennifer will lead an extended Saturday afternoon session in water phenomenology, using hands-on experiments to explore water’s movement, rhythm, flow, and form.

No previous experience with biodynamics is required. Participants may bring soil from their own farms or gardens for chromatography, though prepared Horn Farm soil samples will also be available.

A limited number of standalone tickets are available for Jennifer Greene’s water phenomenology session on Saturday, November 14, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
