What is the Regional Advisory Committee?
PASA's strength as an organization benefits tremendously from having member-based Regional Advisory Committees actively engaged in each region, building a sense of PASA community at the regional level.
The roles of the Advisory Committee is to provide support and guidance for PASA programs on a local level in coordination with the Western region staff. Advisory committees help to strengthen current programs, as well as aid in the development of strategic initiatives for long-term planning.
A successful Regional Advisory Committee depends on volunteer members working to provide:
- Assistance in growing and retaining PASA memberships
- Coordination of networking events (potlucks, informal farm gatherings) and local/regional educational events
- Continuity of serving a one-year term and attendance at two regional meetings annually
- Identification of members in the region interested in serving on the PASA Board of Directors
- Promotion of PASA fee-based programs, including Field Days, Buy Fresh Buy Local, Good Food Neighborhood, and Farming for the Future Conference
