Randy Kuhn’s farming history in Pennsylvania stretches back 11 generations, but much has changed since that first farm was settled in 1743.  With the purchase of 40 acres in the Northern Tier in 2006, Tina & Randy have continued a family tradition.  We’ll tour their organically-managed farming/ranching operation, taking time to learn about the rotational grazing and diversified livestock plan including: dual purpose Plymouth Barred Rock chickens, Duroc pigs, registered Red Angus cattle, dairy-beef crossbreeds, and their (fledgling) Beefalo cattle enterprise.  Kris Ribble, a grazing specialist with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), will be on hand for the pasture walk and grazing discussion.

With over 200 years of agricultural lineage, farming was a natural fit for the Kuhn family.  They tried their hand at dairying in Kutztown, but have found their niche up north with a wider variety of livestock. The Kuhns sell exclusively through their online store which enables them to manage farming and their off-farm jobs. They are committed to producing without hormones or chemicals, respecting diversity and sustainability.
