Come spend the day at Wholesome Dairy Farm!  Elizabeth and Mark Lopez are veterinarians experienced in dairy production medicine--animal health and welfare are their top priority.  Learn how preventive measures keep the herd well, and see the benefits of this care expressed in clean, delicious, raw milk.   The focus is local, with a small on-farm store selling raw milk and raw milk cheese, grass fed beef and milk-fed veal from grazing cows, as well as other local products.  Discover the finer points of Ayershires, find out how Mark is marketing his value-added dairy products, learn about dairying with reduced carbon emissions, and join Mena Hautau (Berks Co. Extension) for a pasture walk and discussion of  soil fertility as it relates to herd health and nutrition.

Just last year Elizabeth & Mark Lopez, VMDs,  bought a 41 head herd and started dairying on Mark’s uncle’s farm – the farm where he spent his childhood summers.  By farming naturally and engaging and reconnecting with their community, the Lopez family is encouraging sustainability for their customers, their four employees, and most importantly the cows!
