Each year our
Farming for the Future conference just seems to get bigger
and better. In addition to our normal offering of exciting
workshops and keynote speakers on Friday and Saturday, our
Pre-Conference sessions have now become a major part of the
overall experience for many participants. Thursday evening
this year will be a little different, with good food and
musical fun that should please the whole family!
As the 2008
conference approaches, we are more aware than ever of the
changes occurring in our food system, and the potential for
attentive and innovative farmers to benefit from these
changes. But threats exist as well, especially as we now see
some of the larger industrial players begin to push back.
That’s why our theme and main speakers this year have been
selected to emphasize the tremendous determination and
perseverance it takes to succeed. In this presidential
election year, it will be good for us to hear why it still
matters to hang onto our dreams and, as Gandhi once said, be
the change we wish to see in the world.
We look
forward to welcoming you to this, our 17th edition of one of
the largest and most respected gatherings of sustainable ag
enthusiasts anywhere in the country, as we listen to and
celebrate the stories that help to sustain us all! |
